The Henderson Memorial Public Library is seeking a renewal of a 1.5 mill levy. This is a zero tax increase, allowing the library to maintain its current operating expenses to ensure their services continue to meet your expectations. This levy will continue to cost a homeowner with a home valued at $100,000 less than $4 per month. For just $4 per month, the Jefferson Village and Township has access to over 45 libraries with over 12 million items using the CLEVNET, Libby, or Hoopla apps that are supported by HMPL. The community has continuously supported the library through a levy since 1980 and has been instrumental in ensuring its successful operation and public partnerships. With the support of tax dollars and grants the library has been able to maintain and enhance the facility and services at HMPL by:
*upgrading the HVAC system which has helped to reduce utility costs by 30% and create a safer work environment for staff
* purchase new public computers with touch screen technology
* adding a self-checkout station
* adding Square technology for contactless transactions
* installing automatic doors and antimicrobial handles for a healthier environment
